Get Your Year In Gear - Last Call

You don't have to wonder how to make the most of 2006. Due to the requests I've received, this 4-week virtual Get Your Year In Gear (GYYIG) program is being offered one final time this year and will run from January 9th through February 1.

Here's what Janet, a participant in this past Fall's GYYIG program has to say about it.

"This was my first experience in a tele-class with lessons emailed to me and then being able to call in to ask questions that met my specific needs. I was impressed with the great tools and structure and loved that it started with big picture and got down to daily time and task management.

I’ve been very focused on working on my business plan and so the focus on vision and 90 day goal setting was very helpful. It also helped me realize that I was doing too much “other” work at the expense of “focus” time for billable work. During this course, I was able to set limitations and reshape my commitments. That’s a very tangible outcome that will benefit my business.

Your program is a great way to really focus on planning for the next year. It gives a great tool kit that can be used well beyond this course and helps in mastering planning, prioritizing and time management.

The program is also about our whole life and achieving great balance, not just about managing our business life. It’s a wonderful model of integrated life planning that will help me focus on ALL things important in my life." Janet Frood, London, ON

To get the full details on this incredible program that will give you what you need to have the best start to a year you've ever had, go to Get Your Year In Gear

When Women Dare

I used to work a lot with women - leading organizations, speaking at workshops and conferences and writing specifically for women. But about 15 years ago I walked away from it. My passion and drive was gone (or is that buried). I went down another path.

Then, in March of this year, something started to happen in me. A renewed sensitivity to women began to show itself. Women sought me out to talk about some really big stuff that was going on in their lives - some happy, some very sad. My mind ran with ideas of things to write for women.

But, instead of grabbing hold and going back down a road I'd been before, I decided to wait - let everything simply unfold and see where it took me. I didn't feel anxious. I didn't feel like I had to "do" something. I was just open - watching, listening, and continuing to work my existing coaching business with men and women business owners. I am a natural strategizer, list maker, planner, and let's-get-the-job-done kind of person so this approach was quite different for me.

Since March, I've met and talked with some amazing women who desire to take their business to the next level, fulfill a passion they've kept quiet until now, and/or create a life that honors a balanced lifestyle. They are all leaders from different arenas. All daring to step beyond the expected and outside their comfort zone.

Then it happened. I was driving down the highway and three words dropped into the car with me - When Women Dare."

I've registered the url www.whenwomendare.com , tossed around a few ideas, and talked with others about what exactly “When Women Dare" means to them - what it is; what it could be.

So - here are two questions I'd like to throw to you for feedback.
1. What do you think of when you hear “When Women Dare?”
2. What is important to women who dare?

I really look forward to your thoughts. This is a concept/vision in process.

Thanks for listening.

When Time Runs Out

Tonight I got a call from a good friend to say that an old friend of ours had passed away.

If you've ever received a similar call, you know what I mean when I say that all kinds of things ran through my mind. I felt sad, heavy, and thankful for her life. All at once.

The other day, Peg came to my mind and I thought that I should go visit her so we could catch up on the years that have passed since we last saw each other. It would have been great to talk with her.

Peg was a wise woman. She had known pain, sorrow and happiness in her life and yet her gentle spirit and warm heart always had room for others. I will forever be grateful for the part she played in my life - especially when I was a little girl and later as a young mother.

I hope you don't let time run out for you and someone you care about.
